Scott is a Licensed Building Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in the industry—he’s seen it all! As a proud Whangarei local, he loves raising his young family in the community he calls home.
During his apprenticeship, Scott was part of the team that built the visitor center at Waitomo Glowworm Caves, featuring the stunning Māori hinaki (eel trap) inspired entrance. After completing his apprenticeship in 2010, he gained valuable experience in Perth, working on large-scale commercial projects and specializing in aluminum joinery installation. Returning to New Zealand, Scott turned his focus to renovations and extensions, founding Hargood Renovations & Extensions in 2015 with a commitment to delivering top-quality workmanship and exceptional service.
Scott believes in doing it once and doing it right—on time and within budget. He works closely with clients to understand their vision, offering honest advice and tailored solutions. From large-scale commercial projects to bespoke home renovations, Scott’s extensive industry knowledge ensures your project is in expert hands.
Outside of work, you’ll often find Scott spending time with his family—whether it's out on the boat, hitting the snow, or enjoying great food. He also loves traveling with his wife, Nicole, and working on his family home—a renovation nightmare that's slowly turning into a dream.
Marc is an experienced carpenter and joiner currently serving as a Project Manager at Hargood Builders. He has a strong background in shopfitting and the exhibition industry, complemented by over 15 years in the signage sector. In his role, Marc excels at managing large contracts in New Zealand, overseeing projects from initial design through pricing and construction, all while meeting tight deadlines. Recently transitioning back to the building industry post-COVID, he brings a commitment to quality craftsmanship and innovative solutions, often stepping in as the "general dogs body" to ensure everything runs smoothly.
One of Marc's favorite aspects of his current position is the interaction he gets to have with clients, which allows him to build meaningful relationships and understand their visions. He appreciates the camaraderie within his team, as well as the dynamic energy of his boss and his wife's quirky sense of humour that keeps the workplace lively.
Outside of work, Marc enjoys spending quality time with his wife on camping trips and fishing excursions. They also cherish their time on their lifestyle block, and spending time with family and friends.
Kenneth is a 31-year-old Project Manager with a background in the kitchen industry, as well as waterproofing and underfloor heating. With a strong drive for professional growth, he has always sought opportunities to expand his skills and expertise. Currently, he is working towards a Diploma in Business Management with a focus on Project Management, staying ahead in this dynamic field.
As the Project Manager at Hargood Renovations & Extensions, Kenneth oversees all commercial projects, primarily focusing on Ministry of Education work. Every project presents unique challenges that require fresh, tailored solutions, making the role both exciting and rewarding. A key part of his approach is bringing together diverse teams, carefully selecting builders based on their strengths to foster an environment where everyone can thrive. Watching apprentices develop their skills and grow in confidence is one of the most fulfilling aspects of his job.
Outside of work, Kenneth enjoys food, family, friends, and fun. Whether spending quality time with his wife, dog, and cat or hosting a backyard BBQ with music playing, he values making memories and living in the moment. When not on the job, that’s likely where he can be found—relaxing and enjoying life with the people who matter most.
