This project was all about creating a space that embraced the outdoors while offering comfort, warmth, and incredible views. After years of making do with a tired and underutilised outdoor area, the clients decided it was time to invest in a dedicated space for entertaining — one that would maximise the stunning outlook toward the Western Hills and seamlessly integrate with their existing home and garden.
Design and build a covered outdoor area with solid walls to provide shelter from the cold southerly winds, incorporate a large open fireplace for cosy winter evenings, and extend the deck to capture all-day sun.
The new structure blends beautifully with the clients’ established gardens and unique home, creating a space that feels both fresh and perfectly in tune with its surroundings. The open fireplace quickly became the centrepiece — a bold, functional feature that anchors the space and invites year-round use.
This was a rewarding project to see come together. The final result is a warm, inviting extension that has transformed the way the home is used — and the clients couldn’t be happier.
